What a photograph!

I took my son to an oral surgeon this week for a consultation on extracting his wisdom teeth. In the waiting room we saw this amazing photograph of a Hobie Cat race on the Chesapeake Bay. My cell phone picture of this 6 foot wide photo doesn’t really do it justice. Here’s one of the million reasons why I enjoy our area so much.

Man, was it hot over the weekend! What did you do to make yourself more comfortable, pass the time and survive the heat? I went to a waterpark, had fun in the water all day, then went to a movie later Saturday night. We had a great time and it was the perfect way to enjoy a really hot day outside. We saw “Inception” which was terrific. It was really interesting and thought provoking. I’d give it a 9 on a 10 point scale. I think I need to see it again to take in more of the movie. Don.

Remember when you had a MASSIVE crush on your older cousin? Every little girl did! I worshipped my oldest cousin Kevin, who was/is over 6′ 6″ and 10 years older than me. It seems my daughter has a similar crush on her oldest cousin, Sean! Is my little girl in heaven or what?

Look At The Size Of This Sandwich!

I’m trying hard to eat right these days and eat less. I love to eat. I enjoy going out to eat, but look at the size of this sandwich I recently ordered at one of my favorite restaurants. It was delicious, but huge! Big enough to make two meals out of! Wow!

Last night we went to see John Mayer at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. There were a lot of people there and it was pretty warm outside! John put on a good show and performed his hits and a number of cover songs.

Our new puppy Ginger is a handful. I didn’t realize the difference in a female dogs’ disposition compared to a male dog. Ginger is totally different than our male dog Koko. She comes when she wants to and always takes over the food or water bowl when Koko is trying to eat or get a drink. She is a pistol! I tell her the only thing that saves her is her cuteness.

..and we had to do this to poor little Koko…he is having some ‘issues’….we hope he gets better soon!

Know what this is:

Well, yes…obviously it’s a batch of chocolate chip cookies, but more specifically…they’re my insurance policy! You see, I am so prone to “taking down the network”, “crashing the system”, “deleting the entire 2WD music library” (ok – that only happened twice…but apparently it’s a pretty big deal). Whenever I create a technical disaster and sheepishly run into the engineers office with my head down and eyes to the floor, they don’t get upset with me because I make them cookies. A lot. By making cookies PRIOR to the unavoidable disasters I create, they never, ever, ever get mad at me. EVER. Even though they should. The engineers let me get away with monumental disasters that would cause them to kill someone else.

Apparently, they know the look on my face before I get to even describe what happened because they’ll lovingly say “Jenna, did you break the radio station again?”…They’re total gentlemen in their attempts to not humiliate me by using non-technical terms. “Did the thingy break, Jenna?” “It’s okay that you broke the radio station, Jenna. That’s what we’ve come to expect…you blow it up…we fix it.” Actually, now that I think about it, they’re actually quite condescending about it! HEY!!!!!

Regardless…I make them cookies…and then when I “break the network” at 6 am and have to call the chief engineer, Ernie at home and get him out of bed to come fix it – as was the case just this moring – he doesn’t yell at me.

And it’s all because of those cookies!

Girl dog or boy dog?

We just got a new puppy. We already had a male dog. Now we have a female dog! I am discovering that girl dogs are meaner than boy dogs. “Ginger” hogs Koko’s water bowl and she relentlessly wants to romp with him! The only thing that saves her is her infinite cuteness….

Yes she fell asleep like this …soo cute…dang….think we’ll keep her.
