Foreigner/Styx/Kansas
Posted in: Uncategorized
We had a great time at the Foreigner/Styx/Kansas concert Friday night at the Virginia Beach Amphitheather. It was four hours of great music, fun, and a lot of memories. There was a big crowd and the weather was perfect. I think the first concert that I ever drove to was at the Pine Knob Music Theather outside of Detroit, Michigan. Foreigner and The Cars performed. Both bands had just released their first albums.

The Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival
Posted in: Uncategorized
This past weekend was spectacular down at the Ocean Front for the Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival. The concerts Friday and Saturday night were amazing. The weather was great too, even though it was pretty hot on Saturday night. Daryl Hall & John Oates performed Saturday night. They’ve had hits over four decades in the ’70’s, ’80’s, 90’s and in this decade. They’ve sold over 60 million albums world wide and they’re the biggest rock duo ever! Here are some great photos from the weekend.

Ultimate Wave Tahiti in 3D IMAX
Posted in: Uncategorized
I went to see “Ultimate Wave Tahiti in 3D IMAX” the other night and I thought it was very good. The scenery was amazing and so were the 3-D effects in the movie. At times I thought we were going to get wet when a wave crested over the top of us. The movie was both entertaining and informative. I took my trusty, 12 year old assistant Carter and he enjoyed it as well. We had a great time. IMAX movies are terrific. I’d like to see all of them if I could. They’ve made a lot of nice improvements and they’ve added a lot of cool exhibits at the Virginia Aquarium. It’s a great place to take the family and right here in Virginia Beach!

Ultimate Wave Tahiti in 3D IMAX Tomorrow
Posted in: Uncategorized
Tomorrow, I’ll be going to a sneak preview of “Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D” at the Virginia Aquarium. It should be fantastic. I’ll do a follow up review of this movie and post it later in the week. This will kick off my new Movie Review series that I’ll be blogging about when I see new releases in the theathers or on DVD.
The “Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D” features nine-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater. Ultimate Wave Tahiti will immerse audiences in the story of an ocean wave and the lives it impacts and transforms. From astounding 3D surfing action to the chaos of ocean storms, the film leads audiences on a quest to understand one of this planet’s most intriguing and dramatic phenomena.
Action in Ultimate Wave focuses on Tahiti and the volcanic islands of French Polynesia, home to some of the world’s most challenging surfing and to astounding coral reef ecosystems at the turbulent interface between island and ocean. The islands are also a homeland of the Polynesian seafaring culture and the surfing art integral to the film.
What a great weekend we had here in Hampton Roads! The weather was perfect and as always, it was action packed for me. I saw Iron Man 2 and thought it was pretty good. I’d give it a 7 on my 1 to 10 scale. I was out at the beach yesterday for a long bike ride. I saw a couple walking down the sidewalk with their bathing suits on. No big deal of course, but these two people had live snakes around their necks. I guess they were taking their snakes for a walk. Wow!
