Stevie Wonder

What a great concert last night at ODU with Stevie Wonder in town.  He’s a living legend in pop music that spans many formats.  The show was amazing.  He had 14 people on stage and played for 2 ½ hours straight.  It’s always impressive to see someone who can write, perform, play instruments, and reproduce what you hear on CD’s, mp3’s and even vinyl records and remember this man can’t see!  Wow.  Tonight, it’s Robin Williams at ODU’s Ted Constant Convocation Center.  Here’s a picture of Stevie Wonder and his band on stage from where I was sitting.  Have a great week.  Don.

Great weekend coming up…

Posted in: Uncategorized

Thursday, October 22, 2009

It’s going to be a great weekend. Sunday night, Stevie Wonder is coming to the Ted Constant Convocation Center at ODU. He’s a legend that I’ve been listening to since I was a kid. My gal pal Karen invited me to see Robin Williams Monday night at the same venue and that should be a hilarious show. I’m getting ready for the patient appreciation party this coming Wednesday, October 28 from 6 to 8:30 pm that Drs. Klar and Dr. Voorhees are having at the Kempsville Skating Center. It’s open to all Klar – Voorhees patients. Please RSVP by calling 495-3110. All patients can bring a gues and we’ll have some great prizes for the best costumes. Here’s Dr. Neil Klar and I after my initial visit. The trays should be coming in very shortly and I’ll be telling you all about it.

Drs. Klar and Dr. Voorhees

Yesterday, I was over at the Hilltop office of Drs. Klar and Dr. Voorhees.  That’s on First Colonial Road.  I met more of their great staff, Candy, Tammy and Kelly.  It was a great experience.  Kelly worked with me taking the impressions that are needed for my Invisialign trays.  Those are the clear, ceramic trays that will straighten out my teeth and you’ll hardly be able to see them at all.  I can’t wait.  The procedure should take 6 to 8 months.  Drs. Klar and Dr. Voorhees are having a patient appreciation party on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Kempsville Skating Center.  It’s open to all Klar – Voorhees patients.  Please RSVP by calling 495-3110.  All patients can bring a guest as well.  I’ll see you there too with some great prizes for the best costumes.  Here’s Candy and Tammy from the fantastic team that Drs. Klar and Dr. Voorhees have assembled.  I’ll keep you posted with my teeth’s progress.  Don.

Homearama 2009

Thursday, October 08, 2009

This year’s Homearama is terrific.  Barry McKay and I went out there for a Media Presentation last week and I went again last night.  It’s in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake off of the Route 17 exit from I-64.  They have some beautiful homes with some great ideas.  Last night was a perfect evening to be out there.  The weather was perfect, crisp and cool for a fall night.  Homearama also makes for a great date night, grab a quick bite to eat, and head out to Homearama with your special someone.  Thanks for listening to 101.3, 2WD.

Well, I’m busier than ever right now.  I was at the Oceanfront over the weekend for a bike ride on the boardwalk/bike path.  It was the perfect ending to a great weekend.  The nights are getting cooler and the days are getting shorter, aren’t they?  I’ve joined Face Book under “Don London” if you’d like to reach me, become a “friend” or find out more about me.  2WD is on Face Book as well under “WWDE Norfolk”.  We’re giving away some great prizes to random “friends” and new “friends”.  Thanks for listening to 101.3, 2WD.  Don.

It’s been quite a week.  This past weekend, I went to see Jeff Foxworthy for the first time ever.  It was a terrific show.  Very funny and entertaining.  There were a ton of people there of all ages and it was at the beautiful Ferguson Center For The Arts.  What a great venue!  There are some great shows in Hampton Roads this fall.  Hope you have a chance to see some of them.  Have a great weekend.  Don.

Missed a win…

It’s Monday and I totally missed the Cowboys win yesterday! I don’t have the specialty cable channels for all NFL all the time. I did watch a great game between Denver and New England. Here are words to live by, “Don’t touch the kicker!” Make sure you join our facebook family. You could snag a pair of tickets to Busch Gardens! You can link from here.

Oh…Deer?

Posted in: Uncategorized

You never know how your kids will shock you. My daughter asked to take a hunters safety course with her boyfriend. I said sure. Then she asked me if she could go target practice with her boyfriend and his Dad. I said yes but be careful. Then she begged me to let her go hunting. I said, “what are you gonna do, shoot a deer?”

Please scroll down.

That’s a 7 Pointer! (hunter talk) Congrats honey, you never cease to amaze me in good ways.

Don Henley is coming…

Posted in: Uncategorized

Allright, Don Henley coming to town, I am ready. I got to see the Eagles last year at the Hampton Coliseum and that was probably the best concert ever. Don Henley is a perfectionist and makes sure that the Eagles sound ’studio perfect’ in concert and they do. If you’re an Eagles fan you have to read the book Heaven and Hell by Don Felder who really put the rock edge to the early folksy sound of the Eagles. Awesome behind the scenes look. We have your free tickets on 2WD so listen to win and good luck!
