The Tylenol Secret Every Mom Knows!
Posted in: Uncategorized
My little slice of perfect just can’t seem to catch a break these days. Charlie has had an affliction of one type or another over the last 3 weeks. Today he stayed home from school (as did 9 other children in his class) because he woke up at 4:10 am with a 101.4 fever. Poor baby, right? Mmmm…I dunno about that.
When I was at work this morning, as all wonderful, loving fathers would, Charlie’s daddy gave him Tylenol. That’s what you do when your kid has a fever of 101.4, right? (Most mothers just shook their heads and giggled!!!). WRONG!
When your child has a 101.4 fever and you give him Tylenol, the fever goes away, he’s fine, you’re home and have to work from home – but you can’t get anything done because, well, he’s fine and acting like a 5 year old boy!

Mom’s know that you really don’t give them Tylenol until the fever hits 102.5. That’s when kids become pretty uncomfortable. Plus, we justify withholding meds with one simple statement: “Hey, the fever has a job to do…let it do it’s job.” But the truth is, when you “let the fever do it’s job” and DON’T give the Tylenol until the temp hit 102.5, it’s an entirely different experience!!
FOR EXAMPLE: HERE IS CHARLIE AT 2:15PM TODAY…
WITH MOMMY…AND NO TYLENOL! AHHHH… silence …

He is actually drooling!
